Our MCD series is based on the traditional tube design for anode grounded X-ray tubes. Therefore the cathode is on the HT side and needs to have negative polarity and additionally the filament supply on HT. These X-ray tubes are electrostatic focalized only and provide high power X-ray output, starting from 20 kV to 75 kV and 100 kV applications. These tubes are made mainly for the non destructive testing purposes, but equipped with different target materials, they are commonly used in X-ray analytical applications too. The HT cable can be glued in for a maintenance free usage at the enduser side with very flexible HT cables up to 75 kV (up to 100 kV on special request). Standard cables with an R24 cone can be inserted directly into the tube receptacle. For long time X-ray emission stability the full tube body is cooled and the anode can be powered up up to 3 kW. The radiation shielding made of lead free materials is already built in and a rotational anode cup provides three adjusting filter positions for e.g. 3 mm aluminum, 3 mm lead for shielding or with none for using the soft X-rays only filtered by the inherent BE window. The emission angles are custom made and can be machined for fan beam applications 60° x 10° or for cone beam e.g. 40° x 40°. The focal spot in this family ranges from 5, 3, 2, 1,5, 1, 0,7, 0,5 mm. The cathode system allows 2 separate focal spots in one tube for switching e.g. from high resolution imaging to high power imaging.
